Dr. Prentiss has created what we feel is a unique method for addressing
problems, both personal and professional. This method of problem-solving,
which he continues to develop, is based on a convergence of disciplined
and imaginative thought and draws on the vast resources of philosophical,
artistic, and scientific thinking throughout the ages. Infused with
an optimistic view of the possibility of human achievement, a view
that is informed by an unflinching and undaunted sensitivity to
the obstacles that we all face, Dr. Prentiss’ approach forms
the foundation of a number of problem solving services available
to companies, agencies, and organizations. |

In the previous section we mentioned the seminars and workshops
that we offer on Creative Thinking, Critical Thinking, and Strategies
for Problem-Solving. In addition to these, we can provide direct
consultation in cases where traditional resources have not yielded
complete solutions. For example, if the top management of a company
find that they face a dilemma as a result of two of the companies
central principles conflicting with one another, a dilemma that
neither law nor accounting by their very nature are able to resolve,
we can approach the dilemma with our own method.
We seek not to replace these other resources but to supplement
them, when they fall short. Naturally, we cannot guarantee a foolproof
solution any more than top experts in law, accounting, and other
areas can guarantee a foolproof solution. What we do guarantee is
that, once we agree to examine a problem such as the aforementioned
kind of dilemma, then if it is possible to generate a plausible
solution, we will generate one.
Again, with our approach to the solving of a wide variety of problems
and to training others to be better problem-solvers, we take up
where the efforts of honest, competent professionals in these established
areas leave off. We have in mind the kinds of problems that defy
solutions based on traditional approaches; that is what we mean
by the efforts of competent professionals leaving off without generating
a solution. Therefore it is our policy only to examine a problem
in which the responsible personnel of a potential client have concluded
that the experts on whom they ordinarily rely, such as lawyers,
accountants, and scientists, will be unable to solve the problem
in question by themselves, and that the answer is not to consult
additional lawyers, accountants, scientists, and so on.
