Its primary purpose is to bring out the ways in which an understanding and appreciation of social and cultural diversity can help members of helping professions to effectively address some of the most difficult problems that they confront and to better serve their clients. A key feature of the course is a discussion of features common to socially and culturally diverse communities.

Learning objectives include the ability to:

Ø       Identify and explain several kinds of diversity among people.
